The program consists of 15 credits of public health core courses, 25 credits of specialized Industrial Hygiene credits, and eight credits of EOHS electives, for a total of 48 credits. All students must complete an internship and prepare a capstone paper. The Industrial Hygiene program also has a concentration in Hazardous Substances Academic Training.

To train individuals in the theory, clinical, and practical application of occupational musculoskeletal ergonomics and biomechanics. The graduate program of Ergonomics and Biomechanics prepares graduate students for academic, public, and professional careers in the fields involving the prevention of musculoskeletal disorders, injuries, and disabilities that result from the interaction of individuals and environmental factors. The program offers Master of Science (MS) and Doctoral (PhD) degree programs, and an Advance Certificate in Ergonomics.

Continuing Education
To provide continuing education for professionals in occupational safety, industrial hygiene, occupational medicine, and occupational health nursing. Additional courses are provided in hazardous substances. Courses are approved for professional development and continuing education credits in the relevant fields.

Pilot Projects
Grants ranging from $5,000 to $12,000 are available to occupational health and safety researchers in OSHS/EPA Region II. Research should be in the occupational health and safety field and should focus on the NIOSH/NORA research priorities. Information regarding NORA can be found at www.cdc.gov/nora/history.html. Priority will be given to applicants from Region II Education and Research Center (ERC) and Training Program Grants (TPG) programs in New York, New Jersey, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
