This half-day awareness course provides participants with a practical understanding of occupational heat exposure and its impact on worker health and safety. Participants will learn how heat illness develops, the progressive stages from heat stress to heat stroke, and how to recognize early warning signs before they become life-threatening. The course reviews basic first aid response and presents current data on heat-related injuries and fatalities to reinforce the urgency of prevention. An overview of the proposed federal Heat Standard and employer responsibilities will also be discussed, along with practical steps organizations can take immediately to reduce risk.

Supervisors, forepersons, safety committee members, frontline workers, HR professionals, and anyone responsible for worker health and safety in hot environments (indoor or outdoor).
