This course combines lectures, discussions and hands-on experience to accredit inspectors as per AHERA regulations (40 CFR 763) and the ASHARA Reauthorization Act. Accreditation is mandatory for anyone conducting an asbestos inspection of schools and "public and commercial" buildings. This course also satisfies the training requirement for the New York State Restricted Asbestos Handler III (Inspector) and NYC Investigator. Students must earn a grade of 70% or better on the AHERA accrediting examination to receive a certificate of course completion. Those passing the exam will receive photo identification as AHERA accredited inspectors.
