Musculoskeletal injuries are of major concern for healthcare workers. These injuries are due in large part to overexertion related to repeated manual patient handling activities, often involving heavy manual lifting associated with transferring and repositioning patients, and working in extremely awkward postures. Workers performing patient handling tasks will benefit from this conference.
• Nurses, Home Healthcare workers, Direct Support Professionals, Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Radiologists, Sonographers, Emergency Medical Service, Acute Care, Long-Term Care
• Design effective patient assessments to eliminate worker MSD risks
• Identify process changes needed to implement an effective Safe Patient Handling program
• Utilize appropriate patient handling equipment to ensure worker safety
