OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH AND SAFETY IN CONSTRUCTION:
PREVENTIVE MODELS FOR LARGE CONSTRUCTION PROJECTS
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention determined that construction workers incurred the most fatal injuries of any industry in the private sector. Construction workers maintain our nation’s physical infrastructure and build and repair our roads, houses, and workplaces. This work includes hazardous tasks and conditions such as silica exposure, chemical hazards, falls, crane operations, as well as many others.
This program will provide current information on the leading causes of safety and health accidents and illnesses on construction projects, discuss the elements of safety culture and safety climate for construction projects, and describe the benefits of implementing interventions that improve safety and health on construction projects.
