Student Activities & Resources
The Bridging the Gaps Community Health Internship Program (BTG CHIP) provides health-related service to underserved populations while training community responsive health and social service professionals. BTG is a competitive paid 7-week summer internship for health profession students between their first and second year of studies. Students from all UMDNJ schools are eligible to participate. Interns are placed in interdisciplinary teams at a community agency. Community site are located in Camden, New Brunswick, and Newark. Students spend four days a week at their site, and one day a week in workshops. Each year students prepare posters on their experience, and for the first time this summer (2012), a panel and poster presentation was held at the UMDNJ-SPH.
