Who is this for?

This program is designed for Occupational Health and Safety Professionals who are looking to improve their leadership skills, those who lead teams, and those who are looking to prepare for leadership roles.

It is appropriate for learners across all types of organizations and disciplines. We also welcome those who have an educational background in OHS but are looking to increase their leadership skills in preparation for future professional roles. Participants should have a good understanding of health and safety principles such as hazard assessment, risk identification and the elements of workplace safety programs.

We highly encourage students to take our OSHA courses in Safety and Health Management, Incident Investigation, and Job Hazard Analysis – which are offered in series several times a year through our center. The topics and principles discussed in these courses will be foundational to some of the Health and Safety skills discussed in this program.

Why Participate?

Participating in an Occupational Health and Safety Leadership Program offers individuals an opportunity to enhance their professional skills. While many health and safety educational courses focus on the technical skills required to prevent illness and injury, this program fosters the development of personal leadership styles and strengths, enabling participants to navigate OHS and program leadership challenges with confidence and efficacy. Additionally, the program equips participants with advanced skills and concepts in Occupational Health and Safety, empowering them to tackle real-life scenarios with nuanced understanding and proactive solutions. Engaging in this program develops one's leadership skills, ultimately enabling participants to competently promote the well-being of workers and organizational goals.
