Judy Gibson, Chief TB Nursing Consultant, has more than 30 years’ experience in public health nursing, with 20 years’ experience in the field of TB prevention and control. She joined the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in 1991 after 12 years as a TB program manager and specialist in the Dallas County Health Department, Dallas, Texas. She received her M.S. degree in Nursing from Texas Woman’s University at Denton, Texas, and completed a CDC-sponsored Graduate Certificate in Public Health at Johns Hopkins University School of Hygiene and Public Health. She has a strong background in evaluating patient-centered care provided by the nurse who is a public health case manager in a TB program and in applying workforce development strategies.
